Save the date! GAW/CHC Student Research Meeting May 20-24, 2019

This event has been postponed until further notice!  

The UMSA/Laboratory for Atmospheric Physics (LAP)  will host a meeting in La Paz, Bolivia during the week of May 20, 2019 focusing on student research that relates to the goals and objectives of the Mt. Chacaltaya GAW site maintained and operated by the LAP. The meeting will include overview presentations  by subject matter experts in the various fields of research, student presentations on their on-going research, break out sessions where students can collaborate with students from other institutions and one or more instrumentation site visits to the summit of Mt. Chacaltaya and other locations. ​

The preliminary agenda for the meeting is: 

Monday: Expert presentations on the science of Chacaltaya 
Tuesday: Student presentations on Chacaltaya related research 
Wednesday

• Student break-out sessions to discuss overlapping areas of research.
• Establishment of student focus groups.
• Organization of joint student research tasks relating to Chacaltaya.

Thursday: Excursion to Chacaltaya and other research sites
Friday:

• Joint research group meetings
• Establishment of goals and action items and plans for follow-up.
