| On this day, the World Meteorological Organization accepted our request to upgrade the station status from regional to global. This is great news! We are grateful for the help and continuous support from all the institutions that collaborate with us and are part of the Chacaltaya GAW station from the very beginning. We are committed to continue providing traceable observations of greenhouse gases (2 variables), reactive gases (3 variables), and atmospheric aerosols (6 variables) following the recommendations of the GAW Program. Chacaltaya observatory is now an established sentinel for monitoring changes occurring in the tropical Andes at a regional and local scale. |  Download the full letter of acceptance from the link below

During the last steering committee meeting, the post-graduate studies department of UMSA (DIPGIS) prepared a series of interviews related to the Chacaltaya GAW station.
